“To clarify misinformation out there, the OnePlus One will get OTA firmware updates for all global devices, including global devices for our users in India. Rather than have misinformation continue to circulate out there, we felt it important to bring this matter to rest,” Cyanogen Inc. wrote in a blog post.
The latest development will bring some respite to the OnePlus One buyers in the country, who now don’t need to go through the unnecessary software trouble.
OnePlus has been silent since the CM announcement and it is unclear whether the company will still hasten the development of its own software for OnePlus One, or the plans will now be dropped.
To remind you, OnePlus was launched in India earlier this week amid the reports of Micromax’s exclusive deal with Cyanogen Inc. for device support in the country and OnePlus’ quick reaction to fast track the development of its own software for the phone.
